PCP Selection Process

Due to the high number of applications and limited seating for each program students are selected through a "seat competition" format. Students meeting the minimum requirements are asked to attend the selection interview processs where they are evaluated in a number of areas. The student must complete written examinations in areas of reading comprehension, mathematics and first aid procedures. The student then participates in a face to face interview with one of the school faculty. Each of these areas is awarded a point value (including resume) and seats are offered to the top students.

  • Only 25 students per course are accepted; therefore, meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
  • A waiting list will be maintained, recognizing that some candidates may change plans, thus opening seats for other applicants.
  • Short-listed applicants will be contacted and must be available to participate in a final selection interview.
  • Interviews will be designed to meet individual schedule considerations.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the 2010-2011 academic year is February 26, 2010. In order to be considered, applications must be accompanied by all required documentation. Applications may be obtained at any High School Guidance Counsellor’s Office, the Maritime School of Paramedicine or you may download the required forms from our website.

Please download a copy of the Academic Calendar to view full application details on the PCP program, or contact us at the address or numbers on the right-hand side of this webpage to request an application.

The Maritime School of Paramedicine is no longer accepting applications for the 2009 - 2010 academic year.
